Export Kabkab dates Iran is one of the known types of dates. The characteristics of this date include its color, which is yellow in the Khark stage and light brown in the wet stage, and when it is fully ripe, it turns dark brown. The size of this date is 3 to 4 cm with a moisture content of 18% and is semi-dired.  Unlike other dates, kebab dates have a bitter taste when they are unripe and crunchy.

The Kabkab dates Calories are higher than other similar dates due to its high sweetness, therefore, people with diabetes should be careful in consuming it.

This date is a wet Date fruit which can be stored in regular room temperature for about 6 months below intervening time fumigation (doesn’t require the fridge). Also it should be saved in the dry and cold storage for long term.

Harvest time and cultivated provinces:

Fully ripe Kabkab dates fruit is harvested in mid-September and continues until mid-October.

 

Kabkab dates are one of the most important and abundant cultivars in Fars province, Khesht and Kamarj regions in Kazerun and Dashtestan (Abpakhsh and Saadabad cities). This type of date is cultivated in large quantities in other date-growing areas such as Khormuj, Behbahan, Kazerun, Qirokarzin, Tabas, Tangestan and Farashband. In terms of economic importance, this product is after the Sayer, Saltanati and Mazafati.

Target market Kabkab dates:

The largest portion of this product is consumed in domestic markets, but due to production growth with high quality during the recent years steps have been taken for exporting . Most of Iran’s Kabkab dates are exported to Central Asian countries, Russia, Turkey, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and some European countries.
