Types of dried dates:
Dried dates are ripe dates that have a moisture content of less than 18%. The variety of dried dates in Iran is high.
Some date cultivars are suitable for export only due to their dry and semi-dry texture quality.
If a number of cultivars are used for freshness due to their softness and taste.
Some types of palms are picked and used when the fruit is moist, such as rotab Mazafati and “golden yellow” Kabkabs, and others must be left on the palm for 20 days after the wetting stage in the heat of tropical date palms until it is semi-dry. Dates are said to be like the semi-dried dates of Zahidi and Piarom. Of course, some types of semi-dried dates are completely dried and sent to the market.
Zahidi cultivar is also considered as a dry cultivar like Diri cultivar. In some areas it is considered as a semi-arid cultivar. In some parts of the country it is referred to as Qasb.
Cultivated provinces:
Piarom dates can be soft or semi-dry depending on the amount of moisture. Its good type is obtained in Hajiabad city of Hormozgan.
Sayer or Stamran dates during harvest are semi-dry and with a moisture content of less than 17%, the best type of which is made in parts of Khuzestan.
Khazravi dates are the second cultivar in Khuzestan after Sayer. It is a semi-arid cultivar and is second only to Sayer in terms of exports. In other areas, such as Jahrom, Kazerun, Dashtestan, Fasa, Qasr Shirin and Ramhormoz are also planted.
Diri cultivar is also planted in Khuzestan province (Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, Abadan, Shushtar and Shadegan) and Bushehr, Kazerun, Borazjan and Behbahan. Dates of this cultivar are part of dried fruits and dry completely on palms and are very resistant to moisture.
Shahabi dates that have been able to obtain a suitable position after Zahidi, Kabkab and Khasavi cultivars in the export of Bushehr cultivars.
